Our Product
SylPro® is a protein-rich ingredient created for sustainable pet food nutrition. Resulting from the natural process of yeast fermentation, SylPro® is non-GMO, free of major allergens and contains 55% proteins with a well-balanced amino acid profile. Its excellent palatability has been proven for cats: 9 out of 10 cats prefer a SylPro-based diet compared to chicken meal. SylPro® contains functional fibers known to promote gut-health and recent studies with Labradors highlight anti-inflammatory properties. SylPro® can be used as an extra protein source either for premium pet food diets, or as a primary protein for vegan and vegetarian diets in dogs and cats. LCAs (Life Cycle Assessment) show that SylPro® has a low carbon footprint compared to other traditional animal and plant-based protein sources such as beef, poultry or soy protein concentrate.
Why We Do What We Do
Arbiom is committed to feeding the world in a sustainable and healthy way. We aim to answer the 3 global challenges that require us to create a new generation of food ingredients: population growth, malnutrition and climate change. By mastering the art of fermentation, Arbiom is shaping the next generation protein ingredients for food and pet food applications to nourish the world sustainably.
Our innovations will help build the next industrial revolution of our food production system, benefitting the health of society and the planet. To achieve this objective, Arbiom is on a mission to deliver high-quality and sustainable protein ingredients by tapping into nature-based solutions.
How We Are Going to Change the Industry
SylPro® is the perfect solution to address the growing demand of the petfood industry for high-quality and sustainable proteins. Thanks to Arbiom’s expertise in feedstock flexibility, SylPro® can be created with all types of sugars, including lignocellulosic sugars derived from agricultural or forestry by-products. Moreover, SylPro® is not only sustainable through its feedstock but also in its production, thanks to an efficient technology that converts a greater proportion of sugars to protein and requires less equipment; and utilization, thanks to its high digestibility, meaning that all the proteins are used by the organism. This feedstock flexibility allows our process to be scaled and replicated worldwide using local sustainable resources and contribute to create a new generation of high quality and sustainable protein ingredients for the petfood system.
